Reasons to Be Thankful in Sales & Marketing


Here are some reasons to be thankful if you are in sales & marketing.

I got into sales & marketing when I was just a kid. I would knock on the neighbor’s door and ask if I could mow their lawn for money. I would charge $5.00 for the front and $5.00 for the backyard. Pretty soon, I was doing several yards per week for extra spending money. Having a few bucks in my pocket when I was out with friends was a good thing, and I am thankful that I learned how to work hard for what I need or want.

Sales is about a great product and a great customer getting together, and because you introduced them, you get paid. Sales & Marketing is one of the greatest professions in the world, and there are many reasons to be thankful if you are in it. Here are a few.

1. Unlimited income potential if you sell more stuff.
2. You get to help people satisfy a want, need, or desire.
3. You can continually get better at this profession with focus.
4. Hard work potentially pays you more $.
5. It is a people business, and relationships matter.
6. Friendships form as you connect with customers or clients.
7. Communication is critical, and you can learn to be good at it.
8. You get to dress nice.
9. You get to do business over lunch or dinner.
10. New products are exciting to use and sell.
11. New customers can be exciting as you engage them.
12. You can make a living connecting with people.
13. You can mentor and train others to be great salesman.
14. It is not hard physical labor & you can do it when you are old.
15. Your smile can be a sales tool.
16. You can accelerate your efforts and produce more results.
17. Golfing might help you make more sales.
18. If you like coffee, you can have it a lot with customers.
19. You can often be part of a team.
20. There is never a shortage of products, services, or customers.
21. Learning to hustle (work hard) can make you more $.
22. Continual growth is helpful and enjoyable.
23. There are always new objections to overcome.
24. Goal setters enjoy sales & marketing.
25. You can stay local or travel the world to sell something.
26. Good relationships produce repeat customers.
